Re: “The past, absence and future of free music in downtown Raleigh

The beginning of the article is about Rocky Mount folks who stopped coming to Raleigh since they have a free monthly concert in town featuring local/regional beach music and cover bands. That was the format of the "Alive After Five" free concerts before Downtown Live came into existence in Raleigh. When the city sponsored Alive After Fives downtown there were hundreds if not thousands of people in attendance. Usually the bands were the same ones you could see in local bars around town. This less expensive format should be an option the city should consider.

The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.
