Central Park School Benefit

When: Fri., Jan. 28, 6 p.m. 2011
Price: $10
This one might just pack Motorco, as a handful of big-time locals join to raise money for the arts program at nearby Central Park School for Children. Fresh off a triumphant two-night stand in Raleigh and having just added fourth member Mark Paulson, Megafaun pauses the recording of its third album to play its first headlining Durham show in more than a year. They're joined by ramshackle Bull City regulars Midtown Dickens and The Wigg Report, as well as two of the Triangle's most sophisticated troupes—chamber pop quintet The Old Ceremony and hip-hop literati The Beast. Also, Sacrificial Poets and three radically named bands formed by CPSFC students—Cholesterol Problem, The Frosted Firebreathers and Snake Eyez. The music starts at 6 p.m., and cover is $10. —Grayson Currin
