Godfrey Cheshire, film critic and filmmaker, discusses his acclaimed documentary Moving Midway after it screens. The film is about how, to escape urban sprawl, Midway Plantation, outside of Raleigh, was moved several miles to a safer location. Cheshire’s film follows this move and his cousin Charlie Hinton and family as they meet the other heirs of Midway’s past—descendants of former slaves.
