I just moved here from Charlotte. I loved the article. Even more, I loved reading comments by literate people, even if they were wrong :)

The main thing I remember from reading Atlas Shrugged long, long ago is an image of people's personal treasures lying in ruin due to the breakdown of the economy I suppose. In recent years, the image came back to me as I pondered the waste of our country's wealth squandered on people's useless consumer goods. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the conjurer of these images was the goddess of right-wing Republicans. I cherish the irony, hated the book, and can't wait for the Crowther's promised doom.
