Caramel City featuring Heather Victoria

When: Thu., Aug. 13, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5-$10
Caramel City is the new monthly soul series co-presented by producer 9th Wonder and The Art of Cool Project. For its launch, the two area powerhouses tapped Jamla Records singer Heather Victoria to star as the slick songstress from around the way. Victoria recently made a memorable cameo in The Foreign Exchange’s “Asking For a Friend” video, but, musically, we haven’t heard much new material from her. For this show, she’ll likely draw from past projects like Graffiti Diary and Hip Hop Soul Lives, perhaps even treating us with a tease of or release date for her long-awaited A Black Girl Story. Wouldn’t that make this kick-off extra special? —Eric Tullis
