Can't Complain

When: Sun., Sept. 15, 3 p.m. 2013
In the first of a series of concert readings celebrating new plays and local directors, Chatham County performing arts and educational center Streetsigns presents Can't Complain, a new play by Christine Evans, whose works have previously been featured in UNC's Process Series and performed around the country. Can't Complain tells of Rita, a woman who plots her escape from the psychiatric hospital when her daughter has effectively confined her for "just a few tests." Coming to this series later this fall: Wallace Shawn's The Fever on Sept. 29 and T. Cat Ford's A Simple Gift, a play about the Shaker community, on Oct. 20. —Emma D. Miller
