CANCELED: Voight-Kampff, Life Like, Davidians

When: Mon., March 9, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
This is a showcase for Deranged Records, the Canadian punk label that introduced the world to Fucked Up and White Lung. But it also spotlights guitarist Colin Swanson-White, who pulls double-duty in headliners Voight-Kampff and openers Davidians. Swanson-White left Minneapolis for Raleigh to form Davidians with three former Double Negative members. He brought his knack for moody riffs to the hardcore veterans. In Voight-Kampff’s gloomy post-punk, Swanson-White’s needling guitar adds contrast to plodding Joy Division grooves. In the middle slot, St. Louis’ Life Like offer more straightforward hardcore. —Bryan C. Reed
