Café Tacuba

When: Tue., Nov. 10, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $30
Café Tacuba has been rocking since 1989, starting off in Satélite, Estado de México, and quickly gaining a foothold at the forefront of rock en español. Part of this has to do with the group’s versatility and focus. Each album is conceived as a full artistic project, not just a set of songs. The band’s debut showed markers of its Mexican identity (the pinches abounded) mixed with snotty lyrics and jumpy guitars. In Avalancha de éxitos, epic rock, funk and the occasional folk cover made for a pleasing pastiche. Café Tacuba remain perennial risk-takers. —Amanda Black
