Re: “Corrosion of Conformity's Corrosion of Conformity

This is a solid album, the songs are heavy and real. Not sure what genre it fits into but isn't that what COC has always done, kinda pushed the envelope and started their own thing?

These guys have become great musicians and the mix sounds great. I'm still getting used to the vocals, I'm a huge fan of Pepper. Once I got over that he's not on this I can appreciate Mike and he definitely holds his own. I would have loved to hear Pep on a track or two, ala Blind. listen close and you can hear him singing along to The Doom in his car.

Re: “Corrosion of Conformity: An oral history of 30 years

This was an amazing look at my favorite band. Thanks!

I remember watching Beavis and Butthead as a teenager in Oakhurst, NJ and seeing the video for "Dance of The Dead" and thinking "holy sh%t that was awesome!" A year later we moved to Raleigh and I picked up Blind at Schoolkids after realizing that song was on there and that they were from here.

"Vote with a Bullet" was and still is my favorite COC song and Pepper, to me, has the ultimate hard rock voice and sounds distinctly "American". Needless to say, Deliverance is my favorite album of all time, of any band. No offense to the fans of early COC.

I was a big fan of the Rollins-led Black Flag, Bad Brains, Suicidal Tendencies, etc but I didn't know COC then and by the time I found them their new style was what I was into.

I only saw them live when they opened up for Metallica in Greensboro.
