Busty babes and independent journalism

Busty babes and independent journalism

I believe in free speech. I appreciate reading the alternative political and social views offered by the Independent. However, I can't help but ponder the message sent by free, independent newspapers all over the country when they publish a multitude of escort agency notices, phone sex lines and other objectifying advertisements.

I understand that paid advertisements are vital for publishing independent media. I support the hard-working journalists, editors and staff of the Independent; I recognize that they need to pay the bills and save money to help their children go to college. I simply wonder how the sex services ads affect those leaning toward the center or conservative right. Are the ads causing people to associate liberal messages of social justice with conduct they see as corrosive to American society?
