One of N.C.’s most faithful chroniclers gets a career retrospective. Uzzle, born in Raleigh in 1938 and now based in Wilson, started as a News & Observer shooter before hitting the big time at Life, photographing iconic scenes from the civil rights movement and Woodstock. —Brian Howe
