In a world full of ghoulish legislators who creep through our laws by night, of vampiric markets that suck the life out of us, and with rumors of a cyclopean wall rising at our southern border, audiences have an opportunity to face down their fears with laughter at Bump in the Night, the latest Mettlesome sketch comedy show, premiering at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Mettlesome is known for its incisive and diverse projects, working across venues and media in theater productions and podcasts. Bump in the Night is a follow-up to the Two Months In show, which was produced by the same team. It promises to confront the very real monsters of our world—Gordon Ramsay, D.C. senators, and Jeff Sessions (who looks like a possessed ventriloquist's doll)—through the monsters of our imagination. —Katie Jane Fernelius
