Actually, many evangelicals and other Christians would not agree with the notion that "if you are a true believer you will be healed." God does not really promise Christians any kind of earthly reward, just spiritual salvation. Proof of this can be seen in the life of the disciples -- surely they all believed and yet most of them were killed/martyred. At the same time many Christians lack faith that God can heal. After all if God is God and truly creator/omniscient/sovereign then what could be outside the scope of His power? But when Christians believe they have "earned" or "deserve" to be healed because they've "had enough faith" or "been good enough" then many would say they are taking scripture out of context. Of course there's camps where this kind of "prosperity gospel" is taught, but please don't lump all Christians into that camp ;)
