Brand New, Manchester Orchestra

When: Sat., May 9, 7 p.m. 2015
Price: $30
While plenty in the crowd will scream for songs from Brand New’s first two albums in hopes of reliving teenage glory, that simple but bitter emo-punk fare pales in comparison to the aggression of the band’s more recent LPs. That material matches vocalist Jesse Lacey’s dark lyrical themes with more complex, interesting arrangements. The quartet sprinkles its set with enough nostalgic throwbacks for old followers to relive their youth. —Spencer Griffith
