Bowerbirds | Duke Campus: Sarah P Duke Gardens | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Wed., June 23, 7 p.m. 2010
Price: $5–$10; free for kids 12 and under

If there's a band better suited for Duke's Music in the Gardens series than Bowerbirds, we'd love to hear it. Though the increase of keyboard and drums that came with last year's Upper Air have nudged the Birds closer to lush pop skies, they're still using rustic folk trappings to give nature a song. Voiced by the coos of Phil Moore and Beth Tacular, the pair accompanies their hopeful—though occasionally damning—rallying cries with fingerpicked guitar lines that flow like babbling brooks and accordion that creaks like a towering pine. —Spencer Griffith
