Fans of the staccato stylings of David Mamet can get a taste of one of his rare female-centric efforts in Ghost & Spice's production of his 1999 play Boston Marriage. It centers on two turn-of-the-century women, Anna and Claire, whose intimate relationship is tested when Claire becomes involved with another woman. In some ways an inversion of Mamet's similarly structured masterpiece, American Buffalo, the play was written by Mamet in response to accusations that he could only depict male characters. Did he succeed? Judge for yourself. —Zack Smith
