Bollywood Film Series: Dil Chahta Hai

When: Tue., Oct. 15, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: $4 (students free)
UNC's Ackland Art Museum has impressive programs connected to its current show The Sahmat Collective: Art and Activism in India Since 1989, which collects politically charged work from contemporary activist-artists. This provides the context to the 2001 coming-of-age comedy-drama Dil Chahta Hai, screened through the Ackland Film Forum's "Art of Bollywood" fall film series. This Bollywood musical follows three young men through their romantic escapades set against the rich culture and climate of modern Mumbai. —Chris Vitiello
