Re: “Welcome to Zombieland: The aftermath of Chatham's pro-growth era

This article is a fine review of time gone by, exposing much of the greed and avarice that has driven the politics of our past 15 years in the real estate market. There is certainly a strong smack of "I told you so" regarding all things Bunky Morgan as well. So be it, and well deserved. As a non-big business developer, however, I must ask you to look at some bright spots in the Chatham market overlooked by this article. I am the developer of Bingham Ridge, on Lamont Norwood Road. Bingham Ridge is the largest active solar community in North Carolina, and features up scale, super energy efficient, truly green built homes. Visit Our homes are largley built for custom clients, and we have created a community of Chatham citizens that respect and enjoy the environment into which they have moved. There are no foreclosures. There is no developer bankruptcy. The developers of Bingham Ridge are 40 year locals. Our next home owner will take occupancy in March. New home creation has been slower than in the past, but continues in Bingham Ridge. With respect to all: Bob Hartford
