How does the comment about "preventing overly aggressive marketing" even make sense? By far, the most aggressive marketers are the Big 3 (Miller-Bud-Coors) who are the major patrons of the Wholesalers. They flood the airwaves with advertising. Also, being forced to use a distributor doesn't prevent a Craft Beer from marketing itself however it wants --- it just means that these small businesspeople have less revenue to grow and compete.
