Bob James, Paul Brown & Marc Antoine

When: Fri., Sept. 25, 8 p.m. 2015
Three decades later, I can recall every note of the casually funky, slightly melancholy theme to the grungy, weird sitcom Taxi, and feel the depth of the coked-up intelligentsia of early ’80s New York—Andy Kaufman’s bizarre, falsetto Latka; Christopher Lloyd’s perpetually stoned Reverend Jim; Danny DeVito’s weasel of a dispatcher Louie. Jazz legend Bob James recorded that perfect earworm of a theme, part of a 50-year-plus career in the business. He brings his pop sensibility for what will undoubtedly be a damn cool show with the guitar duo of Paul Brown and Marc Antoine. —Chris Vitiello
