Re: “Bill would regulate puppy mills

Henry McClees: "We spend money on our dogs / dogs are our "property" "Dogs don't have rights. People have rights"

First of all, this idiot did not deserve to be quoted in the article. Pretty strange when a "progressive" paper [sic] has to sink so low to find an alternative opinion. Why didn't the reporter on this "progressive" paper [sic] challenge the crap this guy was spouting?

His statement are full of contradictions and excuses. They could have been challenged.... 1) You can't "love" and "own" a living thing. When you call it property, it's not about love, its' about money. And McClees, in his drive to exploit animals, opposes even the very minimum standards of humane care for puppies that's in this bill. Is that love? He's the kind of NC cracker that gives this state a bad name. And quoting him -- as if he is rational and informed -- does not help matters. Apparently, according to this bozo, spending money on a dog is the important thing - it makes them "property" wiithout "rights" He says that people have rights -- but if he won't accord the dogs that he supposedly "loves" any rights, how much better would he treat people?–
