Wilma Black is my grandmother and I love her. It was shocking to get this obituary forwarded to while at work and for my wife to read it on Facebook. Some of it is true; some of it is not. What's most striking to me is how fast journalists spread this obituary throughout social media--and it was predominately journalists who did so--without the slightest bit of critical thinking or fact checking. These journalists need to think about what their profession means. Copying and pasting click bait does little to protect the common good. I don't know if the N&O should have published it the first place, but to me that is secondary. Shame on you. One thing is for sure the Black family out wrote and out thought those click bait journalists.
