Can you be considered a one-hit wonder if your hit was a bunch of right-clicks? The Internet has a vicious knack for making relatively obscure things seem much bigger than they actually are. That applies triply for indie rock buzz bands. "I'm Not Going to Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You," the best song from 2007-famous Florida group Black Kids' debut EP, added wind tunnel distress to its New Wave bass line and shouty hook. By the time they released a full-length, the novelty had faded. Bloggers called them overhyped while blushing painfully at their own excitement. Becoming a touring garage band with a crowd-killer in your back pocket isn't so bad a fate, though. With K I D S and Dash. —Jeff Klingman
