Bill Morrison's film Decasia

When: Mon., Nov. 7 2011
Price: $5
A found footage film originally released in 2002. The film is a meditation on old, decaying silent films. It begins and ends with scenes of a dervish and is bookended with old footage showing how film is processed. Some of the deterioration was enhanced with computers to create more meaningful abstract imagery in the manner of Stan Brakhage. Nothing was done to accelerate the decomposition the actual film prints, most of which were borrowed from facilities such as the Museum of Modern Art. (Source: Wikipedia) Q&A w. filmmaker Bill Morrison follows the screening.
