Bilal | Motorco Music Hall | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Mon., Nov. 14, 8 p.m. 2016
Price: $28-$45
The most unforgettable moment of this year’s BET Awards was during the Prince tribute when Philly soul singer Bilal performed a gut-wrenching rendition of “The Beautiful Ones” and wound up writhing around on the stage floor like a love-torn caterpillar. “When I made the decision to do it, I decided I was gonna go all out from the jump,” he later told Billboard. Of course, there were those who thought that his emotional performance was a bit over the top, just like there were those who, after Bilal’s first Motorco appearance back in 2013, were disappointed that they got the screaming rock-star Bilal instead of the neo-soul, incense-burning Bilal. Hopefully, by now, everyone knows exactly what to expect. Laura Reed opens. —Eric Tullis
