Big Medicine

When: Sun., June 2, 5 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

Veteran string band Big Medicine has toured the world, collaborated with Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis and appeared on A Prairie Home Companion. The quartet's members are accomplished vocalists and versatile multi-instrumentalists. As the Marsalis collaboration attests, they're not confined to a particular strain of bluegrass or old-time music, with a diverse repertoire pulling from a deep roots well that includes fiddle tunes, spirituals and folk ballads. —Spencer Griffith
