This long-lived Colorado band has been going steady since the late ’80s, though their popular peak arrived with the 1993 single “Broken Hearted Stranger.” That song hit No. 10 on the rock chart at a time when its limp blues-rock might have been mistaken for a grunge ballad by an aging radio programmer. Using their song “Blue Sky” as a campaign theme in 2008 remains one of Hillary Clinton’s low points. —Jeff Klingman
