Big Daddy Love, Urban Soil, Joe Firstman

When: Sat., Aug. 22, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $8-$10
It’s been six years since Joe Firstman was the bandleader for Last Call With Carson Daly, but it remains the most interesting trivia about him. During those years, he formed the Cordovas in Nashville and released two full-length records of enjoyable but generic folk-rock. The Charlotte-born singer opens for Raleigh’s Urban Soil, a poppy bluegrass band, and Big Daddy Love, a Winston-Salem quintet that takes classic rock and adds a lot of banjo. —Justin Weber
