Re: “Re: Voting Guide; Cherie Berry

Cherie Berry has made NC a much more unsafe place for workers. Like many conservative politicians, she was a private business owner who wanted to eliminate government regulations for worker safety and minimum wage (for reasons of personal profit) so she ran for the Labor Commissioner office with financial backing from other like-minded business interests. Her main goal is to undermine the function and intent of her office, and reduce the cost of noncompliance to well under the cost of compliance. She does not care for or represent the NC workers. As a result, many more NC workers have been killed and injured on the job. Her record since elected has been atrocious!
Now the Indy supports her?!!! What up guys? You're starting to sound like the mega-corporation owned media instead of the fact-based truth-seeking Independent we have come to depend upon for honest journalism. If you keep this up, you'll lose the respect and readership of the people who have supported you all these years.
Better shape up and do your homework!
