Re: “Durham's police surveillance camera system barely functions

This is a very interesting article to me as I have been a landlord in this area for six years. Specifically, I own a house on Cardens Ln. My last tenant here was moving in with his framily when they were robbed at gun-point by neighbors in back of the house. Needless to say, they decided to move elsewhere. The tenant before them had to threaten the neighbors across the street with a gun in order to stop them from stealing the copper from the gas pack unit. The tenant before that was shot in the legs through the wall by a competing drug dealer. Now many of the houses are boarded up. I have a paying tenant and the house across the street has been fixed up and rented to seemingly good tenants. The neighborhood is still a war-zone, but I think the cameras have got the potential to help. They need to be maintained
