Re: “Gray Brooks defends "Hattie Mae Williams Called Me Captain," but he's willing to consider a name change

Would you people just get over yourselves? This man loved her and was positively influenced by her when he was young, so much so that he is honoring her years later. If you pious snobs would spend half as much time doing something nice for a member of the human race as you do critiquing the actions of those you perceive to be racist, the world would be a greater place. The best way you can right the wrongs of history is to conduct yourself in a kind, humble way to those you meet from every walk of life. What is humble in presuming you know what is in Gray's heart?

Re: “More on that unwieldy Durham restaurant name "Hattie Mae Williams Called Me Captain"

Would all you critics get over yourself with your pious comments? For the love of God, there are way sadder and more heartbreaking things in this world than how a man chooses to honor someone who was important to him in his youth. Must you find a racist angle in just about everything? Instead of the energy it took to write your opinion, why not use it to help someone who could benefit from a kind gesture or make someone's day a bit brighter.
