At the Movies with the NC Symphony

When: Sat., June 1, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $33-35

Mad props to the North Carolina Symphony and music director Grant Llewellyn for putting together a really fun lineup of summer concerts for the whole family under the twilight sky in Cary. Mom and dad might not have to take turns chasing the kids around the lawn for this show. Younger audiences will recognize the music from the Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and James Bond films. And during less-swashbuckling themes from Out of Africa and Gone With the Wind, kids can hit the Instrument Zoo to try their hands at the instruments they see on stage. Shove some juice boxes in around the bottle of white in the cooler and head for the lawn. And dust off the Halloween costumes, too—roving judges will be awarding prizes for the best movie-character costumes, as well as for the best picnic spreads. —Chris Vitiello
