Artisan Cheesefest

When: Sat., June 29, 1-4 p.m. 2013

Apparently a "fromagaholic" is someone who's addicted to cheese. That describes me and about 90 percent of my friends (the remainder are vegan and/or lactose-intolerant, poor things). Recognizing the abundance of fromagaholics among us, The Cookery, the super-cool food production facility in Durham that rents its space to food truck owners, pop-up restaurants and other culinary entrepreneurs, presents this event with the American Meltdown food truck celebrating all things cheese. Artisan food producers and cheeseries from the Triangle will provide demonstrations and samples of cheeses, charcuterie, bread, wine and cheesecakes. American Meltdown provides lunch; local craft beer, wine and cocktails can be purchased at The Cookery's Front Room bar. Come with friends, an appetite and maybe some Lactaid. —Emma D. Miller
