Re: “Live: Five things learned watching Bucky Covington

This review reads like it was written by someone who didn't get an interview with the artist so he then decided to tee off on the most banal of points in the show. You should have learned a few more things. One, the slick headed dude with the union jack shirt was actually the BASS player. Do you just not know the difference? Two, when playing a "State Fair", isn't it appropriate to address the audience by the state name? Don't you think there were people from all over North Carolina there? Three, check your watch dummy. The band played a 75 minute set. Four, country music has borrowed from rock music for a long time now and vice versa. Have you ever heard Buck Owens? I think you were just cheesed at Bucky because you have unearthed a strong fetish for facial hair that you didn't know existed prior to the show. Five, "Fortunate Son" and who's claiming it - are you suggesting that you know Bucky Covington's political lean? Or are you merely stereotyping him because of the genre he works in? I hope reviewing shows is not a frequent gig for you because you honestly seemed to have written a personal attack as opposed to what you were sent to actually do. I love ironic and humorous journalism as much as anybody but your writing has nothing to do with irony, humor or journalism.
