Arlo Guthrie | Carolina Theatre | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Wed., Feb. 6, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $24-49

Last year was a milestone one in the life of Arlo Guthrie. He marked the centennial of his father Woody's birth in July. He lost his wife of 43 years, Jackie, to cancer in October. And at a Thanksgiving-weekend concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, many of his family members and lifelong friend Pete Seeger joined him onstage. He's back on the road bright and early in 2013 for a solo tour subtitled "Here Comes the Kid: The Music of Woody Guthrie." Plenty of contemporary artists have revived Woody's works in recent years (from Wilco and Billy Bragg to Ani DiFranco to the Klezmatics), but Arlo's perspective on this material is unique. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show run $24–$49. Visit —Peter Blackstock
