Re: “Why Aqua NC customers are furious about their service

It is not true that we "chose" to live in subdivisions served by Aqua. In our case, we were not told we were in an area with this service when we bought our house. After buying, we found out and not only did this subdivision NOT CHOSE Aqua, it was THE STATE UTILITIES COMMISSION who set this up. The State Utilities Commission is also not friendly to the residents of North Carolina. Aqua is a HORRIBLE company. In our neighborhood alone, in Apex, they have charged several of us in different months enough to fill a pool! When we call to complain, they tell us we have a "leak." Once proven we have no leak, they tell us if it runs through the system, we used it. Well ,we didn't. Nobody in our neighborhood waters lawns, uses excessive water. They just do this to push their revenue up. It's theft! As far as water quality - it's horrible. It's inconsistent. They put chemicals in, and then they don't properly test it. We called the Health Department for help, and they ignored us. The State refuses to step in, so Aqua seems to have full support in doing whatever they want - that's called lobbyists! Nobody cares about the health. Aqua is a crook and a liar. Hopefully the new governor will have enough sense to step in and care about the health of the residents. Our water should not smell like rotten eggs. Our water should not leave brown spots in our toilets and tubs, and our water should not BURN our mouths when they "treat" the system. For once, can someone take the people's stand, because it's clear all Aqua cares about is the shareholders pockets and the president's salary!
