Aparna Nancherla | Motorco Music Hall | Stage | Indy Week
This is a past event.

Aparna Nancherla

When: Sun., Sept. 21, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $10-$13
D.C. native Aparna Nancherla unloads absurd, awkward jokes in a deadpan manner, and as an Indian-American, she doesn't shy away from goofy yet pointed riffs about race and identity. On messing with her coworkers' minds by coming to work exhibiting various brown-person characteristics: "I'll wear a red dot on my forehead, but then I'll bring homemade taquitos for lunch." Her surreal and satirical point of view landed her a gig as a writer and performer on the now-canceled FX television show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Now she's headlining her own show at Motorco; expect her to make things as wonderfully weird as possible. —Craig D. Lindsey
