Antibubbles, Trepak, DJs Craig Powell & Montgomery Morris

When: Fri., Feb. 17, 9:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $5

Beyond the handful of shows they've played so far, Trepak still haven't offered much to the public ear. But frontman Seamus Kinney's pop bona fides as leader of geek-rock favorites SNMNMNM suggest this new outing will face no shortage of quirky goodness. Headliners Antibubbles are a bit more established, with a debut LP from 2010 appropriately titled Pop, plus two EPs last year. Helmed by Dave Yarwood of the skewed hardcore band Devour, and featuring Logic Problem drummer Seth Beard, Antibubbles often feels ready to burst with punk urgency. But the band's synth-driven sound is devoted to the hook, twisting melodies into sharp barbs. —Bryan Reed
