Re: “Love never dies, but many terrible musicals have: Sitting through Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom sequel.

Having seen n been bored in the Original London version of Love Never Dies i had grave doubts about the Australian Production apart from the fact the Cast n Creative Team were top notch!
I decided against seeing it in Melbourne n waited for the show to transfer to Sydney's glorious Capitol Theatre.
I bought the cheapest ticket in the house along with family n friends who i strongly advised NOT to attend.......by end of Act 1 my group of attendees turned on me and proclaimed the show was EXCELLENT.
I was knocked off my seat also by this transformation of a "dog" of a show to something visually n aurally awesome!
It was truly a different show! True, the premise for a sequel and of course the storyline still are very weak. BUT!!! the actual show as a whole was beautiful and i saw it two more time in Sydney!
My surmise is that this Show should have really been NOT about Phantom n Christine but could have been a brand new show, concept, story, etc, and stood on its own feet easily!
