Animalweapon, Youma, Frank Kastle Bin Savage

When: Sat., Nov. 7, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5-$7
Raleigh producer Patrick Cortes has crafted melancholy synth pop for several years as Animalweapon. He recently gained national attention when several of his tracks appeared on the Serial spinoff, Undisclosed. Much of Animalweapon’s production has a quiet intelligence that hearkens back to early-’00s electronica practitioners like Apparat and Lusine. The vocals are husky, the beats skittering and danceable. This party celebrates the release of the EP Flares and Signal Fires. —David Ford Smith
