Andrew Weathers, Bicameral Mind, Khristian Weeks

When: Wed., June 29, 9:30 p.m. 2011
Price: $5

Andrew Weathers will soon leave North Carolina for California, where he will attend the legendary electronic music program at Mills College. This Nightlight bill, one of his last before the Chapel Hill-raised, Greensboro-based modern classical composer leaves, matches his recent direction nicely, as Weathers has assembled an ensemble that falls midway between the folk and avant-classical traditions. Durham's Khristian Weeks constructs wandering found-sound collages and experiments in feedback. Bicameral Mind, featuring members of the 919 Noise collective, shambles through slow-blooming group improv. —Corbie Hill
