Re: “We Burn for Bernie: A Pre-Primary Party with Senator Bernie Sanders

I really wish the comparisons between Trump and Sanders voters would stop. Completely opposite people and candidates. I'm glad yhe difference was noted here.

Re: “After 70 years, a historic Raleigh neighborhood is no more. A requiem for Tiny Town

Affordable is definitely the key. Everyone is being pushed away. Also, why do all of these darn buildings have to look exactly the same?

Also, as an aside and speaking of older neighborhoods, people in Oberlin Village are not really happy that their rents and property taxes are being raised dramatically. People who have been there with their families for generations. With two-story houses that match the neighborhood in no way whatsoever. It's all probably in the city's new plans, though.

Re: “Eating Durham: A map of public mulberry trees

Out of curiousity, do you have any education in GIS? I didn't know ArcGIS became so public and easy to use. Then again, I have a graduate certificate in the subject and haven't been able to get any position relevant to the certificate (not even an internship!)

Re: “Send $80 to every working adult who's not on Social Security

You know? I agree with Barbara Bergmann's analysis on the Basic Income. However, I think even Canada's experience with Mincome would actually be the best way to go about it. This happened in the 70's and would still help today. It would be based on family size and would phase out around the current EIC limits.

Barbara Bergmann's analysis on expanding social state reforms (even though I like France and Germany's more. Sweden maybe a bit too extreme):

What Mincome did and how it could work without threatening our GDP too badly:
