Allan Gurganus

When: Wed., Nov. 13, 7 p.m. 2013
Since he appeared on the cover of the Aug. 25 issue of the INDY, Hillsborough author Allan Gurganus has been absolutely everywhere—in person and in the media. In the first category, he recently was a featured attraction of The Murphey School Radio Show in Durham, and on Halloween night, he found time to host his annual haunted house party, with actors engaged to represent the dead people buried in the cemetery next to his house. In the media, he taped a monologue about that same cemetery for CBS' Sunday Morning. Most important, he's getting a great reception for his new book, Local Souls, which has received excellent notices from such outlets as The New Yorker and The New York Times. Arrive early at the Regulator, for it'll be crowded. —David Fellerath
