Blood Red River

All Day Punk Fest

When: Sat., Aug. 14, 11:30 a.m. 2010
Price: $5

Eighteen bands, and all of them play punk rock. Presumably, it will take all day for each to play successive sets, so doors open at 11:30 a.m. Richard Bacchus brings his Luckiest Girls and veteran swagger to the headlining slot. The former D Generation axeman sails this band through familiar waters, recalling the '77 boom with New York Dolls glam, Dead Boys sneer and Toy Dolls hooks. In the silver-medal slot, Durham outfit Blood Red River carves its surf-fueled punk away from Agent Orange hardcore and into the edges of a -billy suffix. Plus, uh, 16 more for $5. Well, if you get there by noon. —Bryan Reed
