Alice in Wonderland

When: Nov. 14-Dec. 2 2012
Phone: 919-515-1100
Price: $18

Lewis Carroll's absurdist and reference-laden fairy tale gets a local treatment replete with puppets, projections and the usual crazy, possibly drug-induced characters, all conceived, designed and directed by University Theatre's scenic designer Jayme Mellema, a graduate of UNC School of the Arts. Fun for the whole family, but don't let the kids listen to any Jefferson Airplane afterward, and for God's sake don't let them see that Tim Burton version. The opening performance is at 7:30 p.m. and continues to show at this time through Saturday, with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.; the play then resumes on Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 2. —Zack Smith
