Alberta Cross, Cory Chisel

When: Mon., June 13, 9 p.m. 2011
Price: $10

Like a supergroup comprised of My Morning Jacket, Broken Social Scene and U2 members who are trying to make the grandest indie rock record of all-time, New York's Alberta Cross surround massive anthems with rich, charged atmospheres. There's a little bit of blues boogie and a lot of electric sizzle, facets that together position Alberta Cross as a band primed for big-league crossover. That's no doubt what ATO Records, the label co-owned by Dave Matthews, heard in 2009's Broken Side of Time, which the band's still pushing. Cory Chisel opens the 9 p.m. show. —Grayson Currin
