Re: “Questions loom about group proposing Raleigh charter school

I would like to thank the author for including some facts about TMSA, but also would like to share my perception of them. While it’s true that some of its eight grade students chose other high schools, we need to also consider some underlying factors. Transition from middle to high school is especially important as students start making their career choices for the future. TMSA mission is to prepare its students for challenging science and engineering degrees. Some of these eight graders chose larger high schools for their sports, some for arts, and some for other programs. Disregarding this fact and simply assuming that they all left for some problems couldn’t be further than truth. I believe a very good proof of this fact would be TMSA’s continuing good relationship with those eight graders who chose other high schools and their parents.
