Acclaimed Israeli choreographers Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak are no strangers to the American Dance Festival stage, having collaborated the last two years with festival favorite Pilobolus. This summer, the Inbal Pinto and Avshalow Pollak Dance Company will make its festival debut with its 1999 hit Oyster. This dance piece—like most of Pinto and Pollak's work—blurs the lines of reality and fantasy. With its avant-garde circus costumes and makeup, Oyster closely resembles Cirque du Soleil. However, dance connoisseurs shouldn't let that dissuade them; Oyster is far more art than spectacle. —Belem Destefani
