Adam Faucett and The Tall Grass, The Ghosts of Saturday Nite

When: Mon., May 18, 10 p.m. 2015
Price: $6
Arkansas singer Adam Faucett suggests a careful cross between Patterson Hood and Jason Molina, with an added dash of the soul music and heavy metal those respective songwriters love. His voice is strong but gnarled, like a dining room table cut from an old, hulking oak tree. And his words—detail-oriented descriptions of the soul and society alike—come customized for such an instrument, as they balance both experience and obstinacy. He most often leads a charged rock band he calls The Tall Grass, but as with those other bandleaders, look out if the group steps away, as his quiet moments burn with low, steady heat. —Grayson Haver Currin
