Acid Mothers Temple, Tjutjuna, Clang Quartet

When: Mon., April 22, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12

There's not enough room in this newspaper to begin listing the various aliases and side projects involving Kawabata Makoto and his Japanese psych/jazz/noise/kitchen sink collective Acid Mothers Temple, let alone do his enviable and exploratory career any kind of justice. All you need to know is that the most prolific AMT configuration (The Melting Paraiso UFO) has a new album coming out in May, their second of the year and 39th studio album in 16 years, and they're playing in town. If you have any interest in getting liberated with one of the most intense bands working, you should buy a ticket. With Tjutjuna and the Clang Quartet. —David Raposa
